Role

You will own the systems behind Symmetry's product. APIs, data models, background jobs, integrations, and the data flows that power activation, retention, and monetization.

You will be expected to understand the user’s problem, design the right system, ship quickly, measure the result, and keep raising the quality bar.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain production backend services, APIs, and data models that power user-facing features.
Work with Product, Design, and mobile engineers to turn ideas into precise, shippable implementations.
Improve performance, reliability, observability, analytics instrumentation, and developer workflows.
Use AI tools pragmatically to increase speed without lowering engineering quality.

Requirements

Required

Strong product engineering judgment and the ability to own ambiguous backend problems end to end.
Solid experience with backend systems, API design, relational databases, and data modeling at scale.
Ability to move fast while keeping code understandable, testable, and maintainable.
Clear written communication and comfort working in a remote, high-ownership team.

Desirable

Experience with Python, Django/DRF, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, analytics pipelines, CI/CD, Docker, or AI-assisted development.
