Role

You will work directly with the CPO and other designers, leading Symmetry’s design and user experience function. Your day-to-day work will include designing onboarding and paywalls that convert, improving the experience of training with Symmetry, maintaining and evolving our design system, and researching trends that can take Symmetry to the next level.

Symmetry is the #1 Health & Wellness app across multiple markets, with 2M+ downloads. We are building the future of AI-powered personalized training, and we need someone who can turn our app into an outstanding visual experience.

Responsibilities

Product design

  • Create and maintain Symmetry’s design system, including components, tokens, style guides, colors, AI, and Premium.
  • Design user experience flows that make training simpler, more intuitive, and more motivating.
  • Design complete onboarding and paywall flows.
  • Turn product ideas into high-fidelity designs, flows, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with the development team, providing clear designs and specifications whenever needed.

Development coordination

  • Create clear tickets with design specifications, assets, and visual acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize and communicate with the PM and development team which design tasks need immediate implementation.

Visual quality control

  • Continuously review the production app to identify and report interface and user experience issues.
  • Conduct impeccable design reviews. Every implementation must be pixel-perfect.

Research and strategy

  • Research design trends and propose how they could bring value to Symmetry.
  • Analyze the designs, ideas, and flows of competitors in the training space.
  • Conduct ideation and research around product problems, including conversations with users.

Requirements

Required

  • Demonstrated experience as a mobile app designer.
  • Experience conceiving and designing complete user experience flows, not just isolated screens.
  • Complete mastery of Figma, including auto layout, reusable components, variables, and shared libraries.
  • The ability to create high-fidelity prototypes quickly and fluently.
  • A strong appetite for feedback and criticism that helps you produce your best work.
  • The courage to solve difficult problems amid ambiguity and complexity.
  • Active, large-scale use of AI in your daily work.
  • Clear, direct, fast communication.

Desirable

  • Experience designing paywalls and creative assets.
  • Experience with Superwall and RevenueCat.
  • Experience with training, health, wellness, or lifestyle apps.
  • Experience working at high-growth startups.
  • Experience building or evolving design systems at scale.
  • Motion design and animation experience with tools such as Lottie, Rive, or After Effects.
  • A technical background or experience working side by side with mobile engineering teams.

This role is not for you if…

  • Your portfolio is built around B2B or web projects with little relevance to consumer mobile apps.
  • You only deliver beautiful mockups without considering usability, metrics, or implementation cost.
  • You need weeks to deliver a set of screens.
  • You do not review the implementation, you hand work off and forget about it.
  • Your use of AI is limited to “I asked ChatGPT a couple of things.”
  • You need to be told exactly what to design at every step.
  • Direct criticism, high standards, or an intense pace make you uncomfortable.
  • You are looking for a pressure-free 9-to-5 with no sense of urgency.

Benefits

  • Work at the fastest-growing training company in the world. 2M+ downloads and #1 in Health & Wellness.
  • 100% remote, with total autonomy and no set hours.
  • Competitive compensation. Base salary plus a quarterly bonus of 25–50% based on team results.
  • Equity. Benefit directly from Symmetry’s growth.
  • Real impact. Your designs will transform the lives and health of hundreds of thousands of people.
  • Accelerated professional growth. Direct collaboration with the CPO, an environment with an exceptionally high visual bar, and a clear path toward more senior product and design leadership roles.
